Finance Apprentice required to assist with bookkeeping, accounting, administration and reporting functions of the business.
Wage: ÂŁ15,704 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age (National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices)
Hours: Monday - Friday, Shifts to be confirmed. 40 hours a week

Work: Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands‑on experience.
What you’ll do at work:
- Coding and entering purchase invoices into the accounting software – currently Quickbooks Online
- Entering payments from customers
- Answering customer queries and providing statements as required
- Reconciling supplier accounts in preparation for payment
- Bank and credit card reconciliations
- Preparing sales invoices
Eventually learn and perform the following tasks:
- Preparing reports on Excel as required including cashflow, Management Accounts and Budgeting
- Calculation and posting of depreciation on Fixed Assets
- Calculation of Pre‑payments and Accruals
- Running reports from payroll system
- Reconciling Balance sheet accounts
- VAT Returns
- Assist with Stock Control and calculation of Work in Progress
Where you’ll work: TORRS FARM, PILNING STREET, PILNING, BRISTOL, BS35 4JJ
Training: Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills. Training provider: SOUTH GLOUCESTERSHIRE AND STROUD COLLEGE
Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices. Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary. Plan and review accounting and finance tasks. Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications. Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks. Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data. Record transactional data.
As the successful apprentice you will undertake an Apprenticeship in Level 2 Accounts and Finance, to include assessment in Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours of a Finance Officer, Functional Skills in Maths and English (where applicable), completion of your End Point Assessment. During your time on the apprenticeship programme, you will also be expected to complete and document 20% off‑job‑training. The Apprenticeship will be delivered by South Gloucestershire & Stroud College over 15 months. You will be required to attend CAMPUS on day release for your studies and an assessor will visit you out on site. You will be assigned a supervisor/mentor within the workplace, who will support you to develop your workplace skills, knowledge and behaviours throughout the duration of your apprenticeship programme.
Requirements: GCSE in Maths and English (grade 4‑9*). Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
