We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Apprentice Electrical Control Panel Builder & Systems Integrator to join our engineering team.

Salary in line with the JIB apprenticeship framework, which is divided into four stages, each representing progress through training, qualifications, and on-site competence.

Training course: Installation and maintenance electrician (Level 3).

Hours: Normal hours of work are from 08:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday, a 40-hour basic week.

Duration: 5 years.

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical work. Duties will include:

  • Learning how modern industrial automation systems are designed, built, installed and commissioned.
  • Working under the guidance of experienced engineers while completing a recognised apprenticeship programme.
  • Planning and performing electrical work in industrial, commercial and residential environments in compliance with legislation, Building Regulations, BS7671 and other relevant standards.
  • Using PPE appropriately and maintaining a tidy and safe workplace.
  • Applying diagnostic and problem-solving techniques to identify, assess and resolve electrical faults.
  • Installing and maintaining electrical and electronic equipment, including EV charge points, battery storage, solar and thermal panels, heating and cooling systems.
  • Recording work, including documentation, test results and certification.
  • Using digital learning platforms and business communication and collaboration applications.

  • 7 LAPWING COURT, CHALFORD, STROUD, GL6 8FQ

Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.

Training provider: SOUTH GLOUCESTERSHIRE AND STROUD COLLEGE.

More training information:

  • Apprenticeship Standard in Installation and Maintenance Level 3, includes assessment in Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours, and completion of an End Point Assessment.
  • Completion of 20% off-job training.
  • 5-year apprenticeship delivered by South Gloucestershire & Stroud College.
  • Attendance at Stroud Campus one day a week term time only.
  • Supervisor/mentor support within the workplace.

Requirements:

  • GCSE in Maths and English (grade 4 (C) or above).
  • Electrical Level 2 (pass).
  • Other relevant qualifications or industry experience may be considered.
