We are looking for a positive, enthusiastic and ambitious apprentice to join our team and work in all areas of general practice accountancy. You will be supported with training in bookkeeping, accounts production, audit, taxation and payroll.
£14,500 (negotiable based on experience)
Training course Accounts or finance assistant (level 2)
Hours Monday – Friday, 08:45 – 17:00, includes day release for college sessions 1-day a week.

What you\’ll do at work
The pathway for the successful applicant would be to commence the AAT qualification under the apprenticeship scheme whilst developing skills and progressing their role within the firm. Further development would then be becoming a fully qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA) or Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA).
The role will include:
- Assisting with a range of accounting and taxation services we provide to our client base
- Accounts preparation for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders together with payroll services

- Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
- Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
- Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
- Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
- Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
- Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.
- Record transactional data.
- Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
- Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.

- As the successful apprentice you will undertake an Apprenticeship Standard Level 2 Accounting Technician (AAT)
- Foundation Certificate in Accounting Level 2
These units are:
- Bookkeeping transactions
- Elements of costing
- Using accounting software
- Working effectively in finance
- Foundation Certificate synoptic assessment
Functional Skills in maths and English (where applicable) will be completed if relevant prior to completion of your End Point Assessment.
During your time on the apprenticeship programme, you will also be expected to complete and document 20% off-job-training. The apprenticeship will be delivered by South Gloucestershire & Stroud College over 15-months.
You will be required to attend the Filton or Stoud Campus (depending on where you live) for your studies.
You will be assigned a supervisor/mentor within the workplace, who will support you to develop your workplace skills, knowledge and behaviours throughout the duration of your apprenticeship programme.
Attendance at weekly classes for each module is mandatory for all apprentices.
