Location: Ashbourne, Derbyshire

Salary: Up to £27,500

Working Hours: Full-time with shift work, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in duties

Number of Sleeps Required: As per rota

Service Users: Children and Young People with Learning Disabilities

Qualifications Required: Diploma Level 4 in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent (desirable but not essential)

Experience Required: Previous experience working with children, particularly those with learning disabilities or additional needs, is desirable

Who We Are Looking For:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be patient, empathetic, and passionate about working with children with additional needs. You will play a vital role in providing high-quality care that promotes the children’s physical, emotional, and social well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care and support to children with learning disabilities, ensuring their safety, dignity, and well-being.
  • Assist with personal care tasks, including hygiene, dressing, and feeding, as required.
  • Support children in educational and recreational activities, promoting social inclusion.
  • Develop positive and trusting relationships with the children, promoting their emotional development and self-confidence.
  • Implement individual care plans tailored to the needs of each child.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and nurturing environment.
  • Monitor and document the children’s progress, behaviours, and care requirements.
  • Support the children in managing their emotions and behaviours through de-escalation techniques and positive reinforcement.
  • Participate in regular team meetings, training, and development opportunities.
