Location: Hartlepool

Salary: £17,615.00 (25 hours equivalent)

Working Hours: Rota-based (early & late shifts, weekends, sleep-ins)

Pay Per Sleep: £40 per sleep-in (any time woken is paid in addition)

Service: Children’s Home

Service Users: Young People – trauma, neglect, emotional needs, challenging behaviour (may include physical aggression at times)

Qualifications Required: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare

Who we are looking for:

A qualified Residential Childcare practitioner who brings calm consistency and a therapeutic mindset. You’ll support safe routines, education engagement, positive identity, and work within clear behaviour and risk frameworks.

A specialist children’s residential provider with two homes offering different settings and pace:

  • The Oaks (4-bed): more active, supporting younger children
  • The Elms (2-bed): calmer, supporting older children towards independence

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide safe, nurturing, consistent care
  • Promote education, wellbeing, identity and achievement
  • Accurate recording and information handling in line with policy
  • Support assessment, care planning, delivery and reviews
  • Implement behaviour management frameworks and risk plans
  • Support children to access activities, leisure and community life

Driving Requirement (Essential): Full UK Driving Licence is essential, plus business insurance and use of your own car for work.

  • You only hold a Level 3 in Health & Social Care; this is not deemed equivalent.

  • Individuals with only CQC experience and who have not worked in an Ofsted Registered Children's Home will not be considered.
