About the Role

As a Senior Childcare Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and Mild Learning Difficulties (MLD). You will be a role model, mentor, and key worker, ensuring the best possible care and outcomes for the children. What We’re Looking For

  • Level 4 Children, Young People and Families Practitioner or Level 3 Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Experience working with children in residential care or similar settings
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviours and create a nurturing environment
  • Full UK Driving Licence (Essential)
  • Fluency in English (with the ability to understand UK dialects)
  • Alternative Qualifications Considered: If you hold a Level 3 Diploma in Adult Social Care, we will consider your application if you can demonstrate experience working with children and or young people

Key Responsibilities

  • Support young people with emotional and behavioural needs in a residential setting
  • Act as a positive role model and key worker, helping children develop essential life skills
  • Promote a nurturing and supportive environment that encourages growth and independence
  • Contribute to care planning, behaviour management, and safeguarding processes
  • Support less experienced staff and lead shifts as required

Provision: Children’s Residential Home (Ages 7-17, EBD & Mild Learning Difficulties) - This is a New home for an established provider.

Hours: Various on 36-hour or 48-hour contract

Salary: £27,144 - £36,192 base + 8-10 sleep-ins/month (£52 per sleep)

Potential take-home: Up to £41,184 per annum
