Location: Chippenham, Wiltshire

Salary: £33,000 per annum (depending on experience) plus bonuses, pension, and other benefits

Working Hours: 40 hours, Combination of on-shift (07:30 - 21:30) and administrative shifts (08:30 - 16:30)

Number of Sleeps Required: 1 per week

Pay Per Sleep: £63 per night

We are seeking an empathetic, dynamic, and nurturing individual with strong leadership skills to join our team as a Trainee Manager. The ideal candidate will have a background in Residential Children's Social Care and be confident in supporting staff and young people in a trauma-informed environment.

Main Duties of a Trainee Manager:

  • Assist the Manager in the day-to-day running of the Home.
  • Ensure children and staff are safeguarded, supervised, and mentored.
  • Promote relationships as central to the therapeutic approach.
  • Provide empathetic leadership, coordinating the staff team.
  • Deliver meaningful supervisions and promote reflective practice.
  • Manage paperwork accurately, including Care Plans, Risk Assessments, and Behaviour Support Plans.
  • Ensure Health and Safety Regulations are followed.
  • Oversee financial budgets, administration, and record-keeping.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • MUST have 1 year's experience in Residential Children's Social Care (preferably as a Senior Support Worker).
  • Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Residential Childcare.
  • Understanding of Trauma-Informed Care and the PACE model.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • UK Driving Licence.
  • Confidence in understanding Children's Home Regulations and safeguarding requirements.
  • Clear DBS and positive references from previous roles.
  • Ability to deal with challenging situations in a nurturing and consistent way.
