Location: Swadlincote

Salary: £14.17 – £14.99 per hour

Working Hours / Shift Pattern: 40 hours per week, rota basis (2–3 shifts per week)

Employment Type: Permanent

Sleep-ins: Approximately 10 per month paid at £30 per sleep (£3,600 per year potential)

Service: Children’s Home

Service Users: Children and young people with complex trauma needs

Qualifications Required: NVQ Level 4 or Level 5 in Children and Young People’s Workforce

Experience Required: Minimum 6 months experience working in children’s residential care

Who we are looking for: Our client is seeking a compassionate and motivated Residential Team Leader who is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people. This role involves leading by example and supporting Residential Support Workers to deliver high-quality care in line with Ofsted regulations. You will play a key role in creating a safe, nurturing, and family-style environment where children can thrive. This includes supporting the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager, supervising shifts when required, and ensuring that the home operates in line with the Statement of Purpose.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Meeting the needs of children and young people in line with Ofsted regulations.
  • Supporting with rota planning and assisting management with meetings and appointments.
  • Assisting the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager with the implementation of the Statement of Purpose.
  • Supervising staff and shifts in the absence of the Registered Manager or Deputy Manager.
  • Promoting a diverse and inclusive culture within the home.
  • Creating a safe and supportive environment for children and young people.

Staff must be comfortable using electronic care recording systems to document and update children’s records daily. Experience with Clearcare is advantageous but full training will be provided. Applicants must be aged 21 or over in line with Ofsted regulations and hold a full UK driving licence due to the location of the home.
