We’re recruiting a Deputy Manager to join an Ofsted-regulated children’s home supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This is a strong step-up opportunity for an established Senior/Team Leader (1+ year in a senior role) who is ready to move into Deputy level, with clear progression and funded qualifications.

Key details

  • Location: Preston, PR3
  • Service: Children’s Residential Home (EBD)
  • Beds: 3-bed home (currently 1 young person in placement; beds recently increased with Ofsted approval)
  • Shift Pattern: 3 on / 3 off rolling pattern, 10am–10pm (no sleep-ins)
  • Employment Type: Permanent
  • Driving: Must be a driver

Pay and earning potential

  • Earning Potential: Up to £40,000 per annum
  • Base Salary: £35,200
  • Performance Bonus: Up to £4,800 per annum
  • On-call requirement: Frequency: 1 in 4 (shared between Managers and Deputies)
  • Hours: 5pm–9am
  • Payment: £50 per on-call shift

Who we’re looking for

You will be an emotionally resilient, values-led leader with a strong understanding of EBD and trauma-informed care, confident supporting a team to deliver safe, consistent, child-centred practice.

Essential criteria

  • Level 3 or Level 4 qualified (or actively working towards)
  • Experience working in an Ofsted-registered children’s home within the last 2 years
  • Strong safeguarding and regulatory knowledge
  • Confident supporting Ofsted inspections and maintaining compliance
  • Full UK driving licence

Experience

We’re open to candidates who have spent 1+ year in a Senior/Team Leader role and are ready to step up.
