We are seeking an experienced Asbestos Consultant to join our growing team, delivering high-quality asbestos consultancy services across a diverse portfolio of client sites. This role involves identifying and assessing asbestos risks, providing expert advice to clients, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards. You will play a key role in supporting safe environments while maintaining the highest professional and technical standards.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out asbestos surveys, sampling activities, and risk assessments in line with contractual requirements and industry best practice.
- Identify asbestos-containing materials (ACMs), assess associated risks, and provide clear recommendations on management or remediation measures.
- Produce accurate survey reports and ensure samples are processed and reports completed within agreed timescales.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and key point of contact for assigned accounts.
- Support business growth by identifying additional service opportunities and promoting SGS services to new and existing clients.
The ideal candidate for this role is someone who has experience in delivering asbestos consultancy services including surveying, sampling, asbestos risk assessment, client advisory, and compliance support. You will be confident working independently on client sites and providing practical solutions to support effective asbestos management.
You will also have the following:
- BOHS P402, P403 and P404 qualifications.
- Proven experience identifying, assessing, and managing asbestos risks in accordance with relevant legislation and industry standards.
- Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel to client sites.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships and provide clear technical advice to clients.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
- BOHS P405 qualification.
- Multi-skilled capability across surveying and analytical disciplines.
- Experience supporting complex or large-scale projects involving multiple stakeholders.
- Exposure to quality assurance processes, auditing activities, or continuous improvement initiatives.
- Project Management qualifications or experience leading projects.
