Responsibilities include scheduling, conducting and maintaining calibration/qualification and preventative maintenance programs for all laboratory equipment according to guidelines and procedures. Evaluate new calibration methods and procedures. Use statistics to analyze measurement standards and processes. Ensure all equipment is calibrated and qualified according to SOPs. Label equipment with the latest calibration/maintenance labels. Troubleshoot instrumentation issues and employ technical knowledge for repairs of laboratory instruments. Participate in new instrument requirement determination activities. Develop instrument qualification documents, including IQ, OQ, and PQ protocols. Maintain calibration and preventative maintenance schedule. Develop and formalize calibration procedures, ensuring all laboratory instruments have calibration SOPs. Perform calibration testing in accordance with these procedures and conduct preventative maintenance on analytical instruments. Monitor maintenance status of individual instruments and coordinate with external service technicians as required.

Qualifications include a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or related biological science, or equivalent job experience. A minimum of 4 years of relevant pharmaceutical lab experience with emphasis on instrumental methods is required. Preferred prior technical experience in a bio/chemistry related role. Experience working in a regulated laboratory environment or pharmaceutical company, with implementation and support of laboratory instrumentation is essential. Candidates should have the ability to interpret and analyze data, draw logical conclusions, and troubleshoot analytical problems to minimize downtime. A willingness to review new analytical records, instrumentation, and procedures is also necessary.

Salary: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour.
