Are you ready to take the lead in a fast‑paced, client‑focused laboratory environment? At SGS, we’re looking for an experienced and driven Laboratory Manager to oversee the delivery of high‑quality laboratory services across our Oil, Gas, Chemicals & Environmental operations. This is a key leadership role where you’ll shape performance, develop people, and drive continuous improvement, all while ensuring exceptional service to our clients.

Responsibilities
  • Leading day‑to‑day laboratory operations, ensuring samples are processed and reported on time
  • Driving performance, efficiency, and profitability across the lab
  • Managing, coaching, and developing a high‑performing team
  • Ensuring compliance with quality standards, UKAS requirements, and HSE procedures
  • Building strong client relationships and resolving issues proactively
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and business growth
QualificationsEssential
  • Strong technical knowledge of petrochemical testing standards (IP, ASTM, ISO, CEN)
  • Familiarity with advanced analytical techniques, such as: GC-MS, LC-MS & ICP
  • Proven experience in a laboratory or service environment within the petrochemical sector
  • Experience leading teams and driving performance
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of HSE and quality systems
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
