We’re seeking a dynamic Head of Sales to lead and grow our European biosafety sales region. This senior role is accountable for regional commercial performance through inspirational sales leadership, robust forecasting and pipeline management, and the growth of strategic and new accounts. You’ll define and deliver the regional sales strategy, partner cross‑functionally to increase market visibility, and play a key role in the wider commercial leadership team driving business growth.
Key Accountabilities
- Delivery of the agreed Europe regional sales targets and associated commercial objectives, ensuring clear communication of performance, effective planning, and appropriate use of resources to support business growth and customer value.
- Responsibility for the management, leadership, and development of sales personnel within the region, including objective‑setting, coaching, regular performance review, timely management of underperformance or capability gaps, and identification of succession plans where appropriate.
- Maintain appropriate oversight of strategic accounts, new business development, and market activity within the region to ensure growth opportunities are identified, prioritised, and actively pursued.
Qualifications
- The ideal candidate for this role is someone who has experience of operating as a Sales or Commercial Leader within Biosafety of Biopharma.
- Proven experience of leading and managing a regional sales team with multiple direct reports of varying experience, while setting clear expectations, developing capability, and maintaining accountability.
- Ability to identify and capitalise on biopharm/biosafety business development opportunities to grow client base, deliver sustainable revenues at acceptable margins, and actively promote relevant Health Science network capabilities.
- Strong understanding of customer base, commercial pipeline management, and regional market dynamics within biopharmaceutical, vaccine, cell and gene therapy, and GMP biosafety services.
- Tangible evidence of growing new business with existing clients and selling services to new customers, including a proven track record of successful tendering, negotiating profitable commercial terms, and supporting robust contract outcomes.
- BSc or MSc in Bioscience or Business Discipline.
This role will be based on a hybrid model, with regular travel to our Vitrology office in Glasgow, as well as travelling to other sites internationally.
