Main Duties
- Ensuring all samples received are diagnosed and are issued within turnaround times according to business and customer requirements.
- Perform investigational analysis including the planning and execution of out-of-scope operations, analysis and generation of bespoke reporting in accordance with business and customer requirements.
- Provide technical assistance to team leaders or other appropriate colleagues to maintain service levels and ensure efficient laboratory operations.
- Liaise with customers to keep them informed of analytical test issues such as delays, etc. to ensure customer satisfaction and confidence is maintained – this will include sporadic face to face site visits.
- Maintain instrument up time assisting stakeholders in solving analytical instrument issues i.e. ICP, Viscosity and FTIR.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this role is someone who has:
- Experience in a used oil laboratory environment or experience in a lubricant industry technical role.
- Experience of Failure mode and effects analysis and undertaking Route Cause analysis.
- Experience of wet chemistry analysis.
- Experience in being an advanced M package user - specifically Excel.
Essential Qualifications
- Mechanical Engineering / Chemistry Qualification (C&G / HNC / HND).
- Time served experience with interpretation of FTIR, GC-MS, ICP data.
