The predicted salary is between 25000 - 30000 £ per year.

Job Type: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm

Salary: from £25,000 pa DOE

Main Duties

  • Ensuring all samples received are diagnosed and are issued within turnaround times according to business and customer requirements.
  • Perform investigational analysis including the planning and execution of out-of-scope operations, analysis and generation of bespoke reporting in accordance with business and customer requirements.
  • Provide technical assistance to team leaders or other appropriate colleagues to maintain service levels and ensure efficient laboratory operations.
  • Liaise with customers to keep them informed of analytical test issues such as delays, etc. to ensure customer satisfaction and confidence is maintained – this will include sporadic face to face site visits.
  • Maintain instrument up time assisting stakeholders in solving analytical instrument issues i.e. ICP, Viscosity and FTIR.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this role is someone who has:

  • Experience in a used oil laboratory environment or experience in a lubricant industry technical role.
  • Experience of Failure mode and effects analysis and undertaking Route Cause analysis.
  • Experience of wet chemistry analysis.
  • Experience in being an advanced M package user - specifically Excel.

Essential Qualifications

  • Mechanical Engineering / Chemistry Qualification (C&G / HNC / HND).
  • Time served experience with interpretation of FTIR, GC-MS, ICP data.
