We're looking to recruit an IT Software Developer to join the UK Digital & Innovation team based at our Ellesmere Port office. The successful individual will be responsible for developing, maintaining and supporting software solutions for the business, in addition to developing solutions which enhance business processes, improve internal efficiency or provide added value to business services.
Responsibilities
- Deliver work according to project timelines, meeting specified deadlines and milestones.
- Develop and maintain high-quality applications, ensuring they are robust and scalable solutions.
- Collaborate with team members and other internal stakeholders to deliver features and improvements.
- Ensure clear and concise communication with regards to updates and challenges faced within projects.
- Identify and resolve software defects, bugs and performance issues promptly.
- Ensure code is clean, efficient and maintainable.
- Investigate off-the-shelf software and leveraging of Office 365 suite to provide solutions to the business.
- Mentor and guide the team, including apprentices, for team succession.
Qualifications
- Ability in programming - ideally using web-based technologies (e.g. C#, .NET, .NET Core, Javascript, JQuery, HTML, Razor, MVC, Web API) with a database (e.g. Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Entity framework).
- Full-stack experience using .NET framework.
- Source control (GIT, Azure DevOps).
- Software analysis skill.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Documentation of software both within code and external documentation of product specification.
- Cloud deployment (Azure).
- Significant development and deployment experience.
- Software design/analysis experience.
- Experience of dealing with end-users.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
- Maintaining and upgrading existing system.
