Job Description
Job Title: Offshore Chemist (Casual)
Location: Offshore – Aberdeen
Salary: Competitive offshore rates
Are you ready to bring your expertise to the offshore environment? We’re looking for a Casual Offshore Chemist to join our team on an as‑needed basis in Aberdeen. In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring the highest standards of laboratory operations, delivering accurate sampling and analysis, and supporting smooth platform performance.
What You’ll Do
- Perform sampling and analysis in line with international standards and documented procedures.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain exceptional analytical performance.
- Represent SGS on client sites, ensuring compliance with all test methods, procedures, and QHSE requirements.
- Troubleshoot issues with equipment, methods, or samples, liaising with onshore support to maintain continuity of service.
- Maintain adequate stock of consumables and ensure all testing equipment is calibrated and safe for use.
- Complete routine sampling, analysis, and reporting as per client procedures.

- Ability to work independently in an offshore environment.

Qualifications
How to be a successful candidate
- HNC level in chemistry or related science based subject, or equivalent.
- Off‑shore medical certificate.
- Off‑shore survival certificate.
- MIST On line Training
- SBT01
- Oil in Water
- H2S Sampling Experience – Use of half mask and full BA mask
- Oil in Sand
