Job Description

SGS INSPIRE is a data and information service that provides expertise in the areas of fuel quality vehicle emissions, energy and transportation. The team provides regular written and oral information and consultations to leading global companies from fuels and vehicles related industries.

SGS INSPIRE Business Development Manager (BDM) is part of the global team of market analysts and researchers on energy and transportation in all world regions. SGS INSPIRE works with clients from OGC and the automotive sector, governments and associations. We are looking for a candidate who will lead the efforts to expand the client base globally and maintain relations with SGS INSPIRE clients.

BDM should follow global policies and corporate strategies related to fuels, transportation, and vehicle emissions within the context of energy transition and climate change. BDM is also required to maintain relations with the current clients and support Business Manager with P&L monitoring. The position requires a proactive approach to discovering new markets and opportunities, developing and implementing the project\’s marketing strategy and maintaining a network of contacts with SGS affiliates worldwide. BDM will work in close contact with the project business manager, other members of the team, and colleagues within SGS

Responsibilities

  • Stay informed about global policy developments in the areas of energy in the transportation sectors (i.e., conventional fuels, hydrogen, power-to-liquid, renewable electricity, sustainable aviation fuels, alternative marine fuels, biobased fuels, alternative fuels and vehicles).

Website and marketing

  • In charge of communications -marketing strategy in INSPIRE/WWFS
  • In charge of the visual aspect and narrative of the website. Regularly publish and update marketing-related content on the website. Actively developing the website from the marketing and business development perspective
  • Promotion of INSPIRE on LinkedIn and external platforms
  • Keep INSPIRE promotional materials up to date
  • Organise podcasts and webinars of INSPIRE
  • Prepare and send weekly email of INSPIRE
  • Prepare and send monthly email of INSPIRE
  • Promote of INSPIRE new products
  • Keep track of relevant conferences and search for speaking and publishing opportunities for SGS INSPIRE market analysts worldwide
  • Represent and speak on behalf of SGS INSPIRE at conferences, workshops, webinars, online presentations, etc.

Customers and sales

  • Maintain relations with current customers and respond to their requests concerning proposals, contracts etc.
  • Answer questions from customers related to subscriptions and sales
  • Signal new potential clients to BM and explore the market
  • Keep and expand the database of potential clients and contacts worldwide in cooperation with regional market analysts
  • Organise presentations of INSPIRE for potential customers and SGS affiliates and lead them independently or in cooperation with analysts
  • Monitor tenders in search of consulting projects
  • Lead annual customer satisfaction survey
  • Sell INSPIRE products in accordance with annual targets
  • Build and maintain a network of contacts among significant industry stakeholders globally
  • Keeping track of competitors’ activities
  • Leads team business development meetings, takes minutes, and follows up on implementation. Proposes measures

Strategy and P&L

  • Draft high-quality briefings and presentations for management
  • Support Business Manager with P&L monitoring and reporting
  • Replace the Business Manager when necessary
  • Other tasks as required by the supervisor

Qualifications

Profile:

  • A master’s level degree in international relations, business, economy or similar
  • 5- 10 years of experience working in relevant positions in marketing and sales
  • Excellent knowledge of English. Other UN languages will be considered an advantage
  • Understanding global energy transition processes
  • Ability or willingness to understand market and trade developments of fuels globally
