SGS’s C&P (Consumer and Products) services help businesses ensure product safety, quality, and compliance through testing, inspection, certification, and auditing—covering everything from manufacturing to distribution across various consumer goods sectors.

We are seeking a commercially driven Business Development Manager to grow our Connectivity Services business across the UK and internationally. Focusing on EMC and Product Safety regulatory compliance services, you will identify new business opportunities, develop strategic client relationships, and drive revenue growth within a highly technical B2B environment. This is an exciting opportunity to join a global leader and play a key role in expanding our market presence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, engage, and secure new customers requiring EMC, Product Safety, and regulatory compliance testing services.
  • Develop business opportunities within existing accounts while re-engaging lapsed customers to maximise revenue growth.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring excellent customer experience throughout the sales cycle.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to identify new opportunities and support strategic growth plans.
  • Maintain accurate sales pipelines, activities, and opportunities within CRM systems while achieving agreed sales targets and KPI measures.
Qualifications

You will ideally have proven experience in business development, technical sales, or account management within a highly technical B2B environment. You will be confident identifying new business opportunities, building long-term customer relationships, and delivering commercial growth through consultative solution selling.

You Will Also Have
  • Demonstrable success in generating new business and achieving sales targets within a performance-driven environment.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience selling technical services, testing, inspection, certification, engineering, compliance, or related solutions.
  • Excellent commercial awareness with the ability to understand customer challenges and create value-led solutions.
  • Full Driving Licence for use in the UK and willingness to travel for customer meetings, presentations, and industry events.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a scientific, engineering, or technical discipline.
  • Understanding of EMC, Product Safety, Regulatory Compliance, or the wider Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) sector.
  • Experience of CRM systems, sales forecasting, and pipeline management.
