We are looking to engage an experienced Freelance Asbestos Consultant to support with our asbestos surveying activities at client sites across the UK. This opportunity is offered on a freelance, project-based basis and is suited to contractors operating through their own limited company.
The role focuses on delivering high-quality asbestos surveying and consultancy services, providing expert advice on asbestos risks, and supporting clients to meet all relevant legal, safety, and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out asbestos surveys at client sites, including the safe sampling of suspect materials, accurately recording findings in line with job instructions and internal procedures.
- Assess identified asbestos risks, providing clear recommendations on removal or safe management solutions, and offering ongoing advice to support client compliance.
- Work collaboratively with clients and internal project teams, ensuring effective communication, timely and accurate reporting, and resolution of any site-based issues.
- Contribute to quality assurance activities, including audits and corrective actions, and support continuous improvement and best practice.
- Certification or qualification in asbestos surveying (e.g., BOHS P402).
- Proven experience as an Asbestos Surveyor, ideally within a similar role or environment.
- Strong knowledge of asbestos-related legislation, regulations, and guidelines.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to accurately record and document survey findings.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with survey software and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A valid driving license to use in the UK and willingness to travel to various sites as required.
