SGS's Industries and Environment services help businesses ensure safety, sustainability, and compliance through testing, inspection, certification, and consulting, supporting sectors from manufacturing to infrastructure and environmental management.
This is a hands-on technical role supporting the delivery of gas testing and analysis services across the East and West Midlands. It may involve at times covering other parts of the UK. You will take ownership of projects from start to finish, combining operational site work with technical expertise to ensure accurate, safe, and high-quality outcomes in line with SGS standards. Key Responsibilities:- Carry out onsite gas testing and analysis activities, delivering accurate results and submitting reports within agreed timeframes.
- Work in laboratories and clean room environments, putting documentation together and recording results.
- Support the preparation, maintenance, and operation of testing equipment and analysis tools.
- Work to strict SOPs.
- Develop and maintain strong technical knowledge of gas analysis.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with customers and key stakeholders, supporting high-quality service delivery.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with SGS quality, safety, and operational standards, with flexibility to travel across the UK, Ireland, and occasionally Europe.
- Essential: Relevant engineering or technical qualification or equivalent experience.
- Desirable: Additional technical certifications or safety passport.
