Our client is looking for a Water Metering Technician for a 6‑month contract in Dereham and surrounding area.

Working Hours: 37 hours per week, flexi hours within 6:30–20:00 Monday‑Friday and 08:00–14:00 Saturday. Full training provided.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the customer's champion, ensuring all meter reading queries, planned reads and boundary box exchanges are completed within service levels, maintaining customer service and quality standards.
  • Identify, report and manage reactive work to keep within service levels; coordinate billing information amendments.
  • Accurately read all meters, maintain records, and maximise efficiency and productivity; identify maintenance jobs, exchanges and leaks and liaise with customers.
  • Complete non‑routine readings and income‑related tasks such as flow tests, lid replacements, void inspections and addressing postal address plots.
  • Execute meter exchange operations efficiently and cost‑effectively, mindful of customer impact, escalated incidents, and regulatory compliance; track meters and maintain sufficient stock.
  • Work independently in the field, traveling 3–8 miles per day and using a handheld computer.

Requirements: Customer‑focused individual based within 30 minutes of Dereham, with professional appearance (uniform provided) and a vehicle.
