Job Description
- Job Title: Inspections Engineer
- Job Type: Permanent
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Location: Milford Haven with possible travel within Wales and M5 corridor
- Salary: Competitive
You will be part of our team of highly skilled experts in their field, in the worlds leading testing, inspection and certification company. You will be a strong team player, have excellent interpersonal skills open to new ideas and enjoy working with your colleagues in a friendly and supportive work environment to deliver a high service level to our clients.
As an Inspection Engineer with SGS, you will act as a competent person, examining clients assets to a high standard in a consistent and professional manner, ensuring compliance with current regulatory and statutory requirements. You will also ensure the quality and accuracy of examination records to report the ongoing suitability, defects, omissions and observations back to the client.
Qualifications
- Minimum level 4 qualification (HND / HNC etc.) in a relevant engineering field
- Either a time served or Modern Apprenticeship
- Hands-on experience in a relevant engineering discipline
- Full Driving license valid in the UK.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of regulations such as PSSR, COMAH and PUWER is essential
- Industry Comprehensive experience of inspecting all types of pressure vessels, pipework and tankage steam pressure equipment, , ideally in one or more of the following industries:
- LNG Plant/Refinery/Petrochemical
- Non-LNG cryogenic plants
- Critical National Infrastructure Installations (Upper Tier COMAH Sites)
- Knowledge of LOLER regulations and experience of inspecting lifting equipment, lifts/elevators and cranes would also be advantageous.
- Able to work at height and in confined spaces.

- Confined Space Certificate
- Working at Heights certificate
- Performance related bonus (discretionary and subject to eligibility criteria)
