SGS is seeking an experienced freelance Asbestos Surveyor & Analyst in Aberdeen.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality asbestos surveys and air monitoring services within a complex operational healthcare setting. This role requires a confident, experienced individual capable of working independently while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct asbestos management, refurbishment, and demolition surveys.
- Perform air monitoring, clearance testing, and fibre counting.
- Produce detailed and accurate survey and analytical reports.
- Ensure all work complies with UK asbestos regulations and company procedures.
- Act as the primary SGS contact on site, maintaining strong professional relationships with hospital stakeholders.
- Maintain equipment and ensure all sampling and analysis is carried out to required standards.
Essential Requirements
- BOHS P402 – Building Surveys and Bulk Sampling for Asbestos
- BOHS P403 – Asbestos Fibre Counting
- BOHS P404 – Air Sampling and Clearance Testing
- Approximately 10 years’ experience in asbestos surveying and analytical work.
- Proven experience working in commercial or industrial environments.
- Must be based in or living within the Aberdeen area.
- Ability to work independently and manage site responsibilities alone.
- Flexible approach to working hours to support operational requirements.
- Full UK driving licence.
