Responsibilities
- Undertake research on new clients, projects or updates for client meetings and prepare internal weekly reports on funding costs, market reports, etc.
- Help produce and present marketing material in meetings and pitches with strategic clients and external stakeholders of the team.
- Run profitability and regulatory capital models for new transactions.
- Help produce credit applications for new transactions (in particular sections on loan-to-value, company summaries, etc.).
- Conduct Know Your Customer (KYC) checks for new transactions and periodic reviews.
- Review documentation during execution of new deals and ensure drafting meets required standards, conditions and internal policies.
- Assist in closing processes, including checking condition precedent, working with the closing team and hand-over to middle office.
- Help draft information memorandums for arranging roles or engagement letters with external parties.
- Build and/or review/audit financial models for transaction or client assessment.
- Maintain portfolio database with individual transaction details.
- Provide team related information and reporting to internal stakeholders.
- Work with internal stakeholders on portfolio monitoring and analysis.
Profile required
- Degree qualified (or equivalent industry experience), ideally with exposure to corporate or structured finance, strategic advisory, commercial shipping, the energy sector, and/or related ESG activities.
- Proactive, positive, and accountable self-starter who can work independently and contribute strongly within a team.
- Able to adapt to market trends, manage multiple priorities, and perform well under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills with a clear, concise style for both internal and client-facing interactions.
- Client-oriented mindset with the ability to support and maintain trusted relationships.
- Excellent written and spoken English (additional languages advantageous).
- Experience supporting transaction assessments, structuring, and documentation (e.g. term sheets, presentations, memos, loan documents).
- Strong financial modelling and corporate analysis skills; familiarity with Bloomberg and advanced Excel a plus.
- Good understanding of the shipping industry, including key sectors, clients, investors, and banks.
