Global Transaction & Payment Services (GTPS) is the Business Unit designed for domestic and international companies and institutions seeking support with commercial transactions and payments. GTPS includes Payments & Cash Management (PCM), Cash Clearing services (BAN), Trade Finance services (TRA), Factoring (SGF) and Foreign Exchange services (FX).

GTPS/TRA develops, promotes and processes international Trade products and transactions, securing and financing international flows such as payment secured internationally, international guarantees, and management and financing of export receivables. GTPS/TRA serves BDDF and IRBA networks and acts as the business line for international Trade products for our Global Banking and Advisory clients.

Summary of Key Purposes of the Role:

  • GTPS/TRA London desk is looking for a Senior Trade Banker, responsible for the origination and execution of Trade Finance transactions and the development of Trade Finance solutions for SG UK client base.
  • Defines and implements a yearly client strategic plan with the coverage team (GLBA).
  • Initiates and develops Trade business with corporate clients (UK and multinational corporates located in the UK).
  • Originates Trade Finance solutions for strategic clients.
  • Acts as Global Trade Banker for GLBA/COV customers, orchestrating the commercial strategy and business development across all desks worldwide.
  • Interacts and actively co-operates, cross-sells with Coverage Bankers and other business lines of the bank.
  • Works closely with Middle Office and Back Office teams in Paris to ensure proper execution of transactions originated.
  • Reports evolution of TRA business to local Head of GTPS UK, Branch Management and TRA head office.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops relationships with corporate clients (existing and prospects).
  • Originates transactions.
  • Establishes yearly strategic plan for TRA UK.
  • Ensures all Trade Finance operations are completed in compliance with all TRA, SGLB and SG guidelines.
  • Actively cross-sells with other business lines.
  • Follows-up Budget follow-up and Monthly Business Reviews.
  • Ensures prompt communication and problem handling concerning any regulatory matter.
  • Participates in TRA Head-Office policy on country Risk and bank risks studies.
  • Promotes innovation and digital solutions for clients.
  • Acts as local ambassador of TRA.
  • Ensures all processes of back office functions of TRA UK are fully documented.

Profile required:

  • Master’s degree in Finance or Business Administration.
  • Knowledge of traditional Trade Finance products and structured Trade Finance.
  • Good understanding of the risk drivers of the Trade business.
  • Experience in dealing with large multinational corporate clients.
  • Excellent level of business penetration and commercial awareness.
  • Familiarity with credit analysis and risk-based profitability approach.
  • Computer skills and knowledge of Office software packages.
  • Familiarity with SG, GTPS and GLBA organisation.
  • Fluent in English, knowledge of French can be a plus.
