Responsibilities
- Regulatory Expertise & Interpretation: Provide expert interpretation of existing and emerging UK regulatory obligations relevant to UK Wholesale Banking (UK WSB) Compliance, and assess their practical impact on UK WSB entities and their Business/Service Units.
- Governance & Control Frameworks: Contribute to the development, maintenance, and implementation of governance and control frameworks that ensure regulatory compliance across UK WSB entities.
- Regulatory Horizon Scanning & Impact Analysis: Lead horizon scanning for UK regulatory developments, communicate recommended actions, and collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and other stakeholders to conduct deep-dive impact assessments and support implementation initiatives.
- Training Governance: Manage the governance and delivery of the UK WSB Compliance Training Roadmap, including mandatory and bespoke training modules aligned with regulatory developments.
- Strategic Contribution & Collaboration: Work closely with the Head of UK Regulatory Compliance and other Pillar Leads to ensure alignment of team strategy and work plans, and contribute to broader team deliverables beyond core expertise when needed.
- Internal Advisory & Support: Provide input, advice, and support to internal stakeholders on governance frameworks and regulatory topics within RegCple's scope.
- Operational Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Horizon Scanning & Oversight: Lead daily monitoring of UK regulatory developments (rules, guidance, enforcement actions, etc.) and manage the team's scanning and implementation oversight activities.
- Impact Analysis & Communication: Assess the implications of regulatory changes on UK Wholesale Banking (UK WSB) operations and controls, propose actions, and collaborate with internal stakeholders for implementation.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Advice: Provide regulatory interpretation and implementation advice to Compliance and Business Units; participate in industry working groups and produce firm-specific reports.
- Issue Escalation: Proactively escalate any issues within the pillar's scope to the Head of UK RegCple in a timely manner.
- Strategy & Plan Delivery: Ensure effective and complete delivery of relevant parts of the Compliance strategy and Annual Compliance & Financial Crime Plan.
- Resource Management: Assess resource needs and contribute to discussions on allocation, prioritisation, and capacity planning.
Profile required

- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of UK financial services regulation, especially PRA & FCA frameworks, and UK Wholesale Banking models.
- Policy & Oversight Experience: Proven background in regulatory oversight, policy management, and stakeholder engagement.

- Compliance Advisory Capability: Skilled in providing risk based compliance advice with a practical, solution focused approach.
