This is a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience across financial analysis, business management, technology operations, strategic planning, and organisational transformation within a leading international financial services environment.

From your first day, you'll work alongside experienced professionals and senior leaders, helping to deliver meaningful business insights, drive process improvements, and support key strategic initiatives across the technology organisation.

What you’ll be doing

As a Trainee, you’ll play an important role in supporting the management and performance of a large technology function. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Financial & Business Analysis Analysing technology costs and expenditure trends.

Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and month‑end reporting activities.

Producing management information and business performance reports.

Identifying opportunities to improve data quality, efficiency, and cost transparency.

  • Technology Cost & Asset Management Supporting the monitoring and reporting of technology services and associated costs.

Maintaining records relating to technology assets, maintenance agreements, and supplier contracts.

Assisting with cost modelling and business cases to support strategic decisions.

  • Strategy & Transformation Supporting business improvement and change initiatives.

Assisting with the tracking of strategic objectives and key performance indicators.

Contributing to projects that help shape the future direction of the technology organisation.

Working with stakeholders across multiple business areas to support successful delivery of key objectives.

  • Business Operations Preparing presentations and reports for senior leadership meetings.

Supporting employee engagement, training, communication, and organisational initiatives.

Undertaking research, analysis, and ad hoc projects to support business decision‑making.

Profile required

What we’re looking for We’re keen to hear from candidates who enjoy working with data, solving problems, and collaborating with others. You will ideally have:

  • A degree, placement year experience, or equivalent qualification in Business, Finance, Economics, Technology, Mathematics, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with data.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • A proactive mindset and willingness to learn.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

  • Experience with Power BI or other data visualisation tools would be an advantage.
