Details of the Team
Distribution & Credit Solutions (DCS) is a joint venture between GLBA and MARK.
This joint venture combines the bank capabilities in the credit space integrated in Credit Chains working closely with Origination and Credit Portfolio Management to derisk the bank in primary (Syndication) and secondary (Trading) and pursue Fund Financing and Securitization activities for clients of the bank (corporates, financial institutions, fund managers) leveraging a unified Credit Sales team.
DCS Credit Trading covers any credit linked products: flow, structured credit and loans with their respective financing under an unified credit trading books.
The activity is under MARK supervision (policy and procedure).
- Summary of Key Purposes of the Role
- Make markets in Financials cash bonds to SG internal and external clients
- Manage the risk and the complexity of the SG Financials cash trading books
- Promote SG credit market making capabilities
Key Responsibilities
- Develop long term relationships with clients based on trust and professionalism
- Build, foster and cultivate client relationships in line with regulatory requirements
- Develop SG profile in the market through trading volumes and market presence, enhance individual and (if applicable) team reputation among clients as reliable market maker
- To further improve SG market share and reputation through professionalism, discipline and attention to risks e. g. compliance, market, credit, legal, reputation
- Provide reliable backup and support as required for other traders within the team
- Maintain and develop strong interactions for both internal stakeholders (e. g.
Sales, GLFI, Syndicate, research, compliance, middle/back office, IT, Eng and Risq etc.) and our customers
- Develop the client franchise by having strong interaction with the sales and engineer teams as required
- Work in partnership with sales team to communicate market flows, trade ideas and any relevant trading information to support revenue generation
- Actively support sales staff with client pitches as required to contribute to revenue generation
- Pricing and execution of relevant product transaction on behalf of SG Clients.
Making sure that all procedural guidelines e. g.
- Mifid, risk controls and product governance are observed
- Develop trading strategies and assist sales in developing pricing models as required
- Grow the business in line with the SG group objectives and in co-operation with other stakeholders.
In particular regarding the regulation and business principles, and the development of our customer franchise
- Review and oversee optimization of capital and leverage costs
- Product Scope Responsibilities
- Pricing and execution of relevant product transaction on behalf of SG Clients.
Making sure that all procedural guidelines e. g.
- Mifid, risk controls and product governance are observed
- Take order and execute on behalf of clients in accordance with SG Trading handbook and/or Sales Handbook, risk and credit limits, SG compliance policies and regulatory guidelines
- Manage his/her book and hedge risk appropriately
- Implement team business plan to develop SG business as directed
- Actively support enhancing IT development of tools and systems to develop SG’s trading capability and efficiency (e. g. automation, pricing engines, development of analytical toold and new hedging as applicable)
- Knowledge Management Responsibilities
- Maintain understanding of financial markets, competitors and clients to develop own trading position
- Maintain up to date intelligence on market initiatives and products in the trading environment
- Risk Management Responsibilities
- Using SG trading tools managing/ Monitoring the profit and loss of SG’s account. Ensuring respect to revelant trading limits and risk management
- Ensure full adherence to the SG Sales and Trading responsibilities including Sales and/or Trading handbook and regular training as applicable to the regulatory requirements
- Ensuring compliance with all trading recording procedure and, counterparty trades are within operating credit limits
- Profile required
- Institutional clients (bank, hedge fund, asset manager, pension fund, insurance companies, corporate, distributors etc)
- Brokers (hedge execution voice or electronically)
- Exchange (hedge execution electronically)
