As our Global Key Account Manager (GKAM), you’ll sit at the centre of the relationship between SGS and a portfolio of major Oil, Gas and Chemical Trade clients. Your mission is two-fold: secure and strengthen existing business by delivering against contractual commitments and client KPIs, and unlock new opportunities across our global network by shaping and executing smart, commercially-driven business development plans.
- Own the client relationship as the primary point of contact, ensuring expectations are met, performance is reviewed, and issues are resolved quickly and professionally.
- Create growth by identifying and delivering strategic business development opportunities across Oil, Gas and Chemicals Trade-related services, aligned to KPIs and budget expectations.
- Lead global engagement by organising and attending regular client meetings at global, regional, and local levels, covering business development, performance reviews, technical governance, and improvement actions.
- Manage commercial performance across assigned contracts including renewals, negotiations, and new contract opportunities.
- Coordinate the global network, giving local operations support and oversight to keep delivery smooth, consistent, and aligned to client requirements.
- Report clearly and confidently to the Global Head of KAMs, covering client overview, growth performance, KPIs, complaints/claims, bad debt, and key commercial/operational risks.
What we’re looking for:
- You’re proactive, commercially sharp, and comfortable working at pace with senior stakeholders. You know how to protect relationships and challenge for growth, without compromising delivery.
- You’ll likely bring experience in Trading operations, Hydrocarbon Loss Control, Cargo Inspection, Laboratory Testing, Shipping, or related marine / commodities services.
- A proven track record in customer management, account development, and commercial ownership.
- Confidence operating as a decision maker with strong judgement and stakeholder influence.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to represent SGS at a senior level.
- A strategic mindset able to spot opportunity, think laterally, and deliver solutions under pressure.
