Salary: £41,036.49 – £41,651.39 per annum

Working Hours / Shift Pattern: 2:4 shift pattern with sleep-ins, including weekends

Employment Type: Full time

Sleep-ins: Required as part of the shift pattern

Service: Residential Children's Home

Service Users: Children and young people with complex needs

Qualifications Required: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), with a willingness and ability to complete the Level 5 Leadership & Management qualification. Level 5 already held is desirable.

Experience Required: 2 years in residential childcare, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role in residential children's care.

Your Role:

  • Lead care practices in the home and deputise for the Registered Manager.
  • Oversee staff supervision, development and performance.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Work directly with children to promote positive relationships and outcomes.
  • Plan shifts, allocate resources and maintain smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Support the development and implementation of individual care and therapeutic plans.
  • Collaborate with external professionals to secure the best outcomes for young people.
  • Promote an inclusive, nurturing and stable home environment.

Who we are looking for:

  • An excellent understanding of child development, trauma-informed practice and safeguarding, alongside sound knowledge of the regulations and legal frameworks governing residential care.
  • Proven team leadership, organisation and delegation skills, with strong written and verbal communication.
  • Resilience, adaptability and the ability to work under pressure, with flexibility to work shifts including weekends and sleep-ins.
  • Confident use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and a full UK driving licence.
  • A genuine commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Experience of managing staff performance and leading team development is desirable.
