Job Title: Deputy Manager Childrens Home Ofsted Location: Barnsley Salary: 36000 Working Hours/Week : 8 am to 4 pm Responsible to: Registered Home Manager Operations Manager Home: EBD 3 Bed Home Latest Ofsted: Outstanding Team in place: Wellestablished Main Purpose of Job To assist the Registered Manager to promote good child care practice within the home and in the absence of the Registered manager be responsible for all child care functions within the home Main Duties and Responsibilities To meet the Physical/Emotional/Social needs of Young people Complete Administrative duties as directed by the Manager. This may include staff rotas payroll returns Reg 44 and Reg 45 reports Annex a Risk Assessments LAC Reviews Strategy Meetings Admission/Discharge of Young People. Attend meetings as required. Take part in Safer Recruitment activities. Mentor/supervise and induct staff and new starters. Plan organise and lead shifts. Ensure all daily routines and duties are fulfilled including all aspects for the care nurture and safeguarding of the young people in our care. Ensure good timekeeping and attendance and have flexibility to work a varied shift pattern as directed by the Home Manager to meet the needs of the business Ensure confidentiality and GDPR Compliance at all times. Deliver Supervision Personal Development Plans (PDPs) and offer support and guidance on an ad hoc basis Attend all Mandatory training along with completion of the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management Ensure you are familiar and remain updated with all company policies and procedures relevant local and national legislation and guidance and individual young peoples documentation. Maintain a safe and clean environment in the home and fulfil all domestic duties. Full clean driving licence for transport to appointments and family contact both locally and any location in the UK and supervise when necessary. Transport to School/College which may involve supervision during School/College hours. Or if our young people are not in School/College prepare and support them for home tuition. Provide positive role modelling and encourage both the young people in our care and the Care staff working in the home to have healthy relationships and enable them to build trust. Follow each Individual Behaviour and Risk Management Plan to safeguard our young people and encourage them to behave in a socially acceptable manner. Hours of work Monday Friday 9am 5pm Team Membership To oversee the smooth running of the home and work in conjunction with and under the guidance of the Registered manager and inline with Ofsted requirements and The Childrens Home regulations including Quality Standards 2015. To support staff at all levels. To revert to working a shift pattern as an when required by the company to ensure full staff cover at all times. To compile relevant written reports for both internal and external organisations as required. To organise plan and prioritise effectively delegating tasks as necessary to others in the team. Administrative To work in conjunction with and support the Registered Manager in ensuring specific administrative tasks are performed accurately. To carry out specific tasks as delegated by the Registered Manager/Operations Manager. To monitor other staff members in carrying out their administrative duties this includes month end/archiving and ensuring that all up to date paperwork is on file and ensure that requests are followed to chase professionals for any outstanding reports. To be responsible for all administrative functions/operations in the absence of the Registered Manager. To assist the Registered Manager in the management of the staff team in a manner which maximises their output and enables them to achieve their potential. To contribute to the development of the company practices. To assist the Registered Manager in disseminating information instruction of the outcomes of these meetings to the staff team.
