Location: Hartlepool

Salary:

  • Unqualified (37 hours): £24,454.04
  • Qualified – Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (37 hours): £26,070.20

Working Hours / Shift Pattern: Rota based including early shifts, late shifts, weekends and sleep‑ins

Employment Type: Permanent

Sleep‑ins: Required – £40 per sleep‑in (any time woken is paid in addition)

Service: Children’s Home

Service Users: Children and young people who have experienced trauma and instability

Qualifications Required: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (for practitioner grade)

Experience Required: Experience working with children and young people desirable; values and attitude considered more important than experience

The Home: Number of beds: 2

Who we are looking for: Our client is looking for individuals who can provide consistent, therapeutic care to children and young people who have experienced trauma. The role requires patience, emotional resilience and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships. You will support children with daily routines, education, appointments and activities while contributing to behaviour management strategies and safeguarding processes. Staff play an important role in helping children develop independence, emotional regulation and life skills. A full UK driving licence is essential as staff will transport children to school, appointments and activities.

Staff work closely with young people to support life skills, emotional development and positive outcomes.

Training / qualifications:

  • Structured induction programme
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities
  • Opportunity to enrol onto Level 4 Children’s Residential Childcare (if unqualified)
  • Regular reflective supervision and debriefs
