Location: Stoke-on-Trent

Salary: £37,810.22 per annum (inclusive of sleeps)

Working Hours: 2 on 4 off shift pattern

Service: Children's Residential Home

Service Users: Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)

Qualifications Required: Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare

Experience Required: Minimum 18 months within a Children’s Residential Home (near‑qualified candidates with 60%+ completion of their qualification will be considered)

Employment Type: Fixed‑Term Contract (6–9 Month Maternity Cover)

  • You will lead shifts, support the development of the staff team, and help create a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for young people.

Previous experience within an Ofsted Registered Children’s Home

  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to build positive and professional relationships with young people
  • Good understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and care planning
  • Resilient, adaptable, and able to lead by example
  • Confident with record keeping and IT systems

Additional Screening Requirements

  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle is preferred
  • Level 3 Residential Childcare is not equivalent to Health & Social Care qualifications
  • Applicants from Healthcare, NHS, Adult Care, Supported Living, Domiciliary Care, Nursing Homes, Mental Health Services, or similar settings without Children’s Residential experience will not be considered
  • Applicants requiring sponsorship will not be considered
  • Individuals with only CQC experience and / or who have not worked in an Ofsted Registered Children’s Home will not be considered.
