Salary: £32,934.72 – £37,477.44 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)
Working Hours / Shift Pattern: 40 hours per week

Service Users: Young people with adverse childhood experiences, Emotional Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), and young people progressing towards independence

About the Home
Our client is seeking a passionate and experienced Deputy Manager to support two children’s residential homes in Poole. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong senior-level professional ready to step into a leadership role within a therapeutic organisation focused on positive outcomes for young people. The homes support young people who may have experienced trauma and adverse childhood experiences, providing stable, nurturing environments where they can feel safe, build confidence, and develop independence skills.
What We Are Looking For:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in residential childcare or supported accommodation
- Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care / Children & Young People (or working towards)
- Experience supporting young people with EBD or complex emotional needs
- Leadership experience including staff supervision, mentoring, coaching, and development
- Understanding of safeguarding, compliance, health & safety, and regulatory standards
- Strong knowledge of The Children Act 1989 & 2004 and Supported Accommodation Quality Standards
- Organised, proactive, flexible, and child-centred
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as Home Manager in the absence of the Home Manager under Area Manager guidance
- Lead, supervise, mentor, and support the staff team
- Maintain high standards of care and accommodation
- Promote safeguarding and policy compliance
- Support rotas, timesheets, budgets, and operational oversight
- Manage inductions and absence reviews
- Maintain accurate care records, placement plans, risk assessments, and reports
- Support inspections, audits, and compliance standards
- Oversee domestic standards and home presentation
- Participate in the on-call rota
- Support young people’s emotional wellbeing, development, and independence
- Work collaboratively with external professionals and families
