Qualifications Required: NVQ Level 4 in Children, Young People & Families Practitioner

Experience in Years: Experience working with young people in the last 5 years, including at least 1 year at a senior level

Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Deputy Manager who will assist in leading and managing a children’s home. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of children and young people, supporting them in achieving their full potential. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, young people, and their families in a residential setting and will have knowledge of relevant policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Manager in overseeing services, including staff management, safeguarding, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships within the wider community to support outcomes for children.
  • Lead and manage the home in an aspirational way, inspiring both the children and the staff team.
  • Ensure that all staff are skilled, experienced, and qualified to meet the needs of the children.
  • Produce monitoring reports, statistical data, and evaluations as required.
  • Ensure that equality, diversity, and children’s rights are central to the home’s culture.
  • Manage budgets within the home.

Experience & Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 4 in Children, Young People & Families Practitioner (as required)
  • Experience working with children and young people in a residential setting.
  • At least 1 year of experience at a senior level.
  • Supervisory or management experience.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, care planning, and relevant legislation.
