Service: Therapeutic Children’s Home. Service Users: Children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
Qualifications Required: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards Level 5.
Experience Required: Previous management experience within an Ofsted Registered Children’s Home, including leadership, compliance, safeguarding, staff development, and operational oversight.
The Home: 3‑bed home. Ofsted rating: Established service.
Responsibilities:
- Full operational leadership of the home.
- Ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations, Children’s Homes Regulations, safeguarding legislation, health & safety, COSHH, fire safety, and equality legislation.
- Leading recruitment, induction, supervision, appraisals, and development of the staff team.
- Overseeing Regulation 44, Regulation 45, internal audits, and action planning.
- Managing incidents, safeguarding concerns, complaints, missing episodes, medication, restraint records, and risk management.
- Maintaining excellent relationships with families, professionals, placing authorities, and the wider community.
- Driving therapeutic, child‑centred practice across the home.
- Participating in wider leadership and organisational development.
