Salary: £16 per hour + Time & 1/3 for Weekends + £70 per sleep

Service: Children’s Home

Service Users: Mental Health, age 7 to 17 on Admission

Qualifications Required: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or Equivalent

Experience in Years Required: Minimum 2 Years within a Children’s Residential, ideally EBD or Mental Health

The Home:

  • Number of Beds: Two homes – one 2-bed and one 3-bed
  • Location: Bradford, West Yorkshire
  • Type of YPs: Mental Health (Autism, ADHD, Self-Harm, Suicide Risk)
  • Ofsted Rating: Not had first inspection
  • Ratio of Staff to Children: High staff-to-child ratio to ensure intensive support

You will have a sound knowledge of and experience in:

  • Care Plans
  • Case Management
  • Staff Supervisions
  • Actioning Reg 44 Reports
  • Risk Assessments (Impact risk assessment experience is desirable)
  • Education Plans
  • Working with Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDTs)
  • Previous experience as a Key Worker for a Young Person
  • Understanding policies and legislations such as the 9 Standards, SCIFF, Reg 40, Reg 45

As Deputy Manager, you must lead and manage the home in the absence of the Registered Manager. You will support Residential Support Workers (RSWs) and Seniors/Team Leaders to be ambitious for every child and help them achieve their potential. You will ensure the home maintains its high standard of care, resources, and opportunities in line with the home's Statement of Purpose.

Specialism: Providing specialist residential placements for young people and young adults with mental health difficulties.

Approach: Offering intensive, individualised community care with 24-hour mental health crisis management.

Mission: To support young people who are unsuitable for inpatient hospital settings, experience recurrent hospital admissions, or face delayed discharges due to inadequate community mental health services.

Services: Specialist therapeutic placements supported by an in-house multi-disciplinary mental health team.
