Salary Breakdown
- At the top rate of £17.00 per hour, weekend hours and waking nights are paid at Time + 1/3 (£22.67 per hour).
- Based on a typical Deputy Manager rota discussed by the service:
- 54 standard hours per fortnight
- 28 enhanced weekend / unsocial hours per fortnight
- 2 sleep-ins per fortnight
- This would equate to:
- Standard Hours: £23,868 per annum
- Enhanced Hours: £16,504 per annum
- Sleep-Ins: £3,640 per annum
- Indicative Annual Earnings: £44,012 per annum

The Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced Deputy Manager to join their specialist children's residential service in Congleton. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker, Team Leader or existing Deputy Manager looking to progress within a specialist therapeutic service supporting young people with complex mental health needs. The provider specialises in supporting young people who may otherwise require inpatient mental health provision or who need a highly individualised therapeutic placement within the community. The organisation operates a specialist model supported by an in-house multi-disciplinary mental health team, delivering bespoke care packages tailored to each young person's needs.
The Home
- Large 8-bed children's residential home
- Split into two separate living environments to create a smaller, more therapeutic setting
- Currently supporting 4 young people
- Operating with a maximum occupancy of 6 young people
- Specialist mental health provision
- Supported by an in-house multi-disciplinary team
- Therapeutic and relationship-based approach to care
Key Responsibilities
As Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day leadership and management of the home and assume responsibility in their absence. You will be expected to have strong knowledge and practical experience in:
- Care Planning
- Case Management
- Staff Supervisions
- Actioning Regulation 44 Reports
- Risk Assessments
- Education Planning
- Working alongside Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDTs)
- Acting as Key Worker for young people
- Supporting safeguarding and behaviour management strategies
- Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, SCCIF, Regulation 40 and Regulation 45
- Supporting Ofsted compliance and continuous improvement
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' experience within an Ofsted Registered Children's Home
- Experience supporting young people with EBD, Autism, Mental Health needs or other complex presentations
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Strong leadership experience within residential childcare
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Access to a vehicle
- Confidence in supporting compliance, safeguarding and operational management
