Working pattern: Part time: 22 hours per week, term time only.

Contract type: Fixed term – 1st October 2026 to 21st July 2027. Covers maternity or parental leave.

Salary: Up to £27,247 per annum depending on experience. Part‑time (term time) salary £12,541 per annum.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Excellent practical science skills.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, especially using Microsoft Office.
  • Cheerful outlook and ability to build positive relationships with young people.
  • Good communication and time‑management skills.
  • Experience of supporting curriculum delivery in a secondary or post‑16 setting (preferred).

Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in preparing lessons by setting up equipment and trialling practical activities.
  • Maintain stocks of resources, including chemicals, and ensure proper storage.
  • Provide technical assistance to support practical aspects of curriculum delivery across both key stages.
  • Play a proactive role in safeguarding, ensuring compliance with school policies.
  • Build positive relationships with students while maintaining firm boundaries.
  • Support the Science team in delivering specialist technical education.
