Governors play a vital role in supporting this work and helping the College meet local and regional skills needs. The College is seeking skilled volunteers with experience in finance, audit, local skills, careers, or further education curriculum. Roles include membership of the Audit Committee, Finance & Resources Group, or Curriculum & Quality Improvement Group.
Ideal candidates will be strategic thinkers, comfortable analysing complex information and offering constructive challenge. Professional backgrounds in accounting, education, workforce development, employer engagement, or community partnerships are all welcomed, and prior board experience is helpful but not essential.
As a governor, you will help shape the College’s strategic direction, ensure strong governance, and champion high-quality, inclusive education. The commitment is typically one to two days per month, including meetings, preparation, and occasional campus visits. Governors may also take on link responsibilities in areas such as Careers, Safeguarding or SEND.
