Leeds College of Building (LCB) is seeking two new Governors to join its ambitious and sector-leading Corporation Board. As the UK’s only specialist construction college, LCB serves over 5,000 learners and plays a vital role in addressing regional and national skills priorities. With a strong focus on technical education and apprenticeships, and close links to industry, the College is committed to transforming lives through high-quality, employer-responsive learning.
This is an exciting opportunity for experienced professionals to help steer the strategic direction of a unique and growing institution, recognised for its contribution to economic growth, social mobility, and workforce development. Governors will play a key role in shaping the future of the College, supporting governance excellence, and championing innovation, inclusion, and community impact.
The Board is recruiting to the following roles:
- Vice Chair of the Corporation Board – to support succession planning and provide strategic leadership. The role requires a senior-level professional with vision, commercial insight, and an understanding of skills and education policy. The Vice Chair will work closely with the Chair and senior leaders to help guide the College’s strategic priorities and represent it externally.
- Committee Lead Governor – to strengthen governance through one of the College’s key committees (Search & Governance or Employment & Remuneration). Candidates should bring experience in governance, recruitment, senior leadership, or organisational development. Early-career professionals with potential to grow into the role are also welcome.
