Reporting to the Sourcing Team Manager, you will source goods, works and services across a range of categories supporting key business operations, following internal policies, procedures and relevant legislation (including UK Procurement Law where applicable). You will deliver standard and complex sourcing strategies to ensure the lowest total cost of ownership, including strong contractual terms to reduce delivery risks.

- Deliver mid to high value/risk sourcing projects across categories in Works, Goods and Services.
- Lead, manage, and provide on the job training to a Sourcing Assistant/Officer for their Job Responsibilities where required.
- Collaborate with Category Managers and the Sourcing Team Manager on category plans, sourcing, and supplier management.
- Lead sourcing for requirements outside the scope of the Category Management team.
- Manage procurement activity efficiently, negotiating contracts and mitigating commercial and legal risks.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and internal teams to support business objectives and ensure best value.
- Prioritise workload to meet P&SC KPIs, ensuring timely delivery, cost savings and compliance.
- Monitor supplier usage, research the market, and use ERP data to identify cost-saving opportunities.

- Expertise: Degree or equivalent in Procurement, Business, Finance or related field. Working towards MCIPS preferred but not essential.
- Skills & Experience: Strong knowledge of Procurement & Supply Chain policies and UK Procurement Legislation. 3+ years’ sourcing experience, ideally but not essential in Utilities or Public Sector/Regulated procurement. Familiar with contract forms; able to negotiate terms with guidance. Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and procurement systems (e.g. Oracle, Jaggaer, Achilles, Find a Tender). Solid understanding of supply chains, negotiation, numeracy, and report drafting skills. Strong data gathering and analysis skills.
- Personal Attributes: Knowledge of relevant legal requirements and procurement processes. Able to influence and broaden specifications beyond own remit. Confident, creative thinker with a willingness to challenge norms. Proactive, ‘can-do’ approach and energy.
