At SGN, we rely on effective claims management to ensure claims are investigated, managed and resolved fairly, efficiently and in line with company policies and regulatory requirements. As a Claims Handler, you'll be responsible for managing public liability and/or recovery claims, providing a high-quality service. Every role, whether in the office or on the front line, plays a key part in this mission. Receive, record, and acknowledge new claims, reviewing for completeness and coverage. Investigate, negotiate, settle, and maintain accurate records of claims, managing own caseload and escalating as needed. Work with legal support to resolve disputes. Authorise and approve claims in line with policies and legal frameworks (NSRWA 1991, Gas Act 1986). Follow best practices, adhere to policies and legal frameworks, and stay updated with relevant Case Law. Respond to inquiries about the claims/recovery process, providing clear and timely information. Handle MoJ Portal Claims. Prepare reports on claim status and recovery performance, tracking KPIs. Identity and raise risks, issues, or exceptions related to claims/recovery analysis. Support the development of the claims management team and documentation. Understanding of insurance principles, products and claims processes. Experience handling claims, including exposure to both defendant and claimant litigation. Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and data.
