The predicted salary is between 38400 - 41600 £ per year.
You will be at the centre of our external communications efforts, supporting and delivering the company’s communication activities while protecting our reputation. Working as part of a dynamic team in a fast-paced and exciting environment, you will handle day-to-day requests and navigate media enquiries. You will support the business across Southern England and Scotland, working out of our Edinburgh or Glasgow office. Due to the nature of our business, you will also be required to join an out-of-hours rota to cover external responses for emergency and incident situations.
How you will contribute:
- Handling day-to-day press office and communications enquiries
- Acting as media liaison during incident or crisis situations, potentially out of hours as required
- Ensure positive PR by promoting company achievements
- Provide communications content to support the national gas mains upgrade programme and emergency work
- Campaign delivery and content creation to maintain the company’s social media presence
- Manage and deliver communications campaigns
What You Will Need:
- Proven experience and understanding of media and public relations, preferably within utilities or similar industries
- Experience with social media content creation
- Great interpersonal skills and experience working with a broad mix of other internal and external stakeholders
- Accurate written/proof-reading skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Great working knowledge of digital channels, including the full Office 365 suite
- Experience or understanding of internal communications is advantageous
- A full UK Driving License will be essential for this role due to travel
