As an Engineering Policy Manager, you will be responsible for setting and monitoring technical policies and standards across SGN’s gas distribution business. This role includes:
- ensuring technical policies, procedures and specifications remain fit for purpose;
- reviewing and implementing best practice and suggestions for business improvement;
- approval of new products for use on the gas network;
- coordination of field trials;
- participating in and influencing relevant industry forums.

- Using engineering judgement to assess technical options
- Creating and updating specifications and procedures
- Understanding the impact of policy change on different roles and departments

- Looking to the future to ensure our policies support SGNs strategic goals
What you’ll need:
- Asset or operational management knowledge and experience of Gas Transmission & Plant
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Able to interpret technical requirements and communicate them so they can be understood and implemented by others.
- An incorporated or chartered Engineer, or willing to work towards this.
- Able to carry out impact and risk assessments.
