Responsibilities
- We are looking for a Construction Manager who will be responsible for planning and leading the construction on the biomethane gas-to-grid Yorkshire Water projects in Sheffield and Leeds, working closely with other disciplines to ensure the successful construction and commissioning of each site.
- Implement the highest construction safety standards β using a disciplined and methodical approach to site set up and works controls to ensure risks are managed.
- Implement and measure environmental best practice to reduce the construction phase carbon footprint.
- Establish and implement CDM Principal Contractor construction phase plan, maintaining the plan as required.
- Ensure processes and procedures are followed (including RAMS reviews, permit to work and safe control of operations).
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders including EA, HSE, YW, etc, to ensure that their requirements are met.
- Plan and co-ordinate the sequencing of works to ensure a logical and efficient construction plan.
- Interface with suppliers and contractors from different disciplines to manage works conflicts.
- Manage the site supervision teams to ensure that work quality standards are maintained.
- Ensure as-built documentation and variations to the design are captured and recorded during build.
- Work with the commissioning manager to develop a successful commissioning plan.
- Work with project stakeholders, suppliers and project management team to overcome challenges.
- Inspect, monitor, document and sign off works to progress payment milestones.
- Manage the works snagging and rectification process.
- Report on project progress, highlighting emerging issues to the project team.
What you will need
- Relevant construction experience in gas / utilities / infrastructure
- Holds a Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Black Card
- Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) β CITB
- Institute of Safety and Health (IOSH) Managing Safely β or equivalent
- Temporary Works Co-ordinator
- 5-day 1st aid
- CDM for Principal Contractors
- Use of permit to work / safe control of operations processes
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work effectively with a broad mix of stakeholders including customers and suppliers
- A positive, proactive and resilient attitude
- Proficient computer skills including MS Office suite
