As Head of Green Gas Solutions, you'll lead a growing part of our business at the forefront of biomethane and renewable gas, helping to shape innovative projects that support our net-zero ambitions and create long-term value for customers and stakeholders.
The UK can deliver a significant increase in its biomethane injection to the gas grid and SGN plans to be at the forefront of this sector. Here’s how you will contribute…
- Lead and grow a market-leading Biomethane & Green Gas Solutions business with full responsibility for strategy, commercial performance, safety and operational delivery.
- Drive the expansion of renewable gas and low-carbon energy solutions, helping deliver the UK's decarbonisation ambitions.
- Own and develop a portfolio of complex biomethane and green gas projects valued between £10m-£20m.
- Shape business growth by identifying new market opportunities, strategic partnerships and innovative service offerings.
- Lead, coach and inspire a multidisciplinary team of around 20 professionals across multiple locations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, developers, utilities, investors, contractors and industry partners.
- Oversee projects throughout the asset lifecycle, from feasibility and design through to construction, commissioning and ongoing operations.
- Take accountability for revenue growth, profitability, forecasting, budgeting and long-term business planning.
- Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance, technical assurance and risk management remain at the heart of delivery.
- Represent the business at a senior level, influencing stakeholders and strengthening market presence across the renewable energy sector.
What you’ll need
- Senior leadership experience within biomethane, biogas, utilities, gas infrastructure, process engineering or a related low-carbon industry.
- Track record of delivering complex engineering or infrastructure projects valued at £10m+.
- Experience leading geographically dispersed, multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong commercial acumen with expertise in business development, contract negotiation and financial management.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on leadership and delivery focus.
- Passion for developing people, driving innovation and creating sustainable business growth.
