We’re working with a global commodities trading firm that is expanding its London technology team and looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer to play a key role in building the analytical and trading applications behind its global operations. This is not a generic .NET development role. You’ll be working closely with traders, business users and senior stakeholders to build technology around a sophisticated in-house trading platform, using data and analytics to support decision‑making across global energy markets. If you enjoy being close to the business, solving complex problems and seeing your technology directly influence how a trading organisation operates, this is a role worth looking at.

The Role

As a Senior Full Stack Developer, you’ll join a global analytics team responsible for developing strategic applications and tools that support the business. You’ll be involved across the full development lifecycle; from understanding requirements and designing solutions through to development, testing and delivery. You’ll also work directly with end users, including trading and operational teams, giving you genuine ownership and visibility of the solutions you build.

What you’ll be doing

  • Build and enhance analytical applications supporting global commodities and energy trading
  • Develop full-stack solutions using C# / .NET and React
  • Work closely with traders and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technology
  • Contribute across the full software development lifecycle
  • Develop scalable, testable and maintainable applications
  • Work with large datasets and relational databases using SQL
  • Collaborate with distributed technology teams globally
  • Contribute to architecture, design sessions, peer reviews and technical decisions
  • Deliver high-quality solutions within a fast-moving environment
  • Balance technical excellence with an understanding of the commercial requirements of the business

Requirements:

We’re interested in experienced software engineers who bring a strong combination of technical depth and trading/business understanding. Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Around 8–10+ years of commercial software development experience
  • Solid React / modern front-end development experience
  • Experience building trading tools, trading platforms, analytics applications or other business‑critical systems
  • Experience within commodities, energy trading, financial markets or a similar trading environment
  • Strong SQL and relational database experience
  • Experience working with APIs and enterprise‑scale applications
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence working directly with business users
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments
  • A genuine interest in understanding the functional and commercial side of the technology you build

Nice to have

  • Kafka / messaging architectures
  • GraphQL or gRPC
  • Reactive Extensions (RX)
  • ASP.NET Core / Web APIs
  • CI/CD experience

This is an opportunity to move beyond simply writing code and become a key technology partner to a global trading business. You’ll be close to the trading function, working on technology that has a direct impact on how the business analyzes data, makes decisions and manages global trading flows.
