We’re working with a high-performing, tech-driven trading firm operating at scale in global markets. They are looking for a Linux Platform Engineer to join a cutting‑edge infrastructure team supporting real-time, distributed systems.
The Opportunity
This is a chance to work in a high-impact engineering environment where performance, reliability, and scalability are critical. You’ll help build and optimise infrastructure powering large-scale, globally distributed systems. You’ll be working in an environment where infrastructure directly supports trading activity, so reliability, latency, stability and smart problem-solving genuinely matter.
As a Platform Engineer you will:
- Own and improve a global, highly available platform running 24/7
- Act as an infrastructure SME across Linux and networking layers
- Drive performance optimisation and automation across the stack
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams on architecture and delivery, working across a multi-region / multi-cloud environment
- Support production systems and continuously reduce manual overheads
Requirements
- Strong Linux and infrastructure engineering background
- Solid networking knowledge, ideally across Linux/network stack, routing, connectivity, troubleshooting and optimisation
- AWS experience, particularly AWS networking rather than heavy middleware/serverless services
- Scripting or automation experience with Python, Bash, PowerShell or similar
- Experience supporting production systems
- Comfortable working close to engineering teams and business/front-office users
- Interest in performance tuning, automation, resilience and reducing manual support overhead
Nice to have
- Low‑latency, trading, market‑making, financial services or front‑office experience
- Terraform, Ansible or other IaC tooling
- Monitoring experience with tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK or Splunk
Note: this role does not provide sponsorship.
