Desktop Support Engineer | Financial Services | London, Hybrid
We’re working with a growing, high-performing financial services business that is looking to hire a
Desktop Support Engineer into its London IT team.
This is a highly visible, hands-on role where you’ll be the face of IT to the wider business.
It’s ideal for someone who combines strong technical capability with a genuinely service-led approach; someone who takes ownership, stays calm under pressure and cares about how technology is experienced by the people using it.
You’ll work across two London offices
, supporting a broad modern Microsoft environment while getting involved in endpoint management, M365, mobile devices, office technology, security and continuous improvement.

What you’ll do
- Provide high-quality
- 2nd line / desktop support
, owning issues from initial triage through to resolution and closure.
- Support a
- Windows 11 estate using
- Microsoft Intune and Autopilot
, including configuration, compliance and application deployment.
- Manage the full joiner, mover and leaver lifecycle
, including accounts, licences, devices, desks and secure offboarding.
- Support and administer
- Microsoft 365
, including Teams, Outlook, Exchange Online, Share Point, One Drive and Office.
- Manage the corporate i Phone estate through Apple Business Manager and Intune MDM.
- Own the lifecycle of laptops, mobile devices and peripherals, including deployment, asset management, repairs, refresh and disposal.
- Support
- Entra ID / Azure AD
, MFA, Conditional Access, licensing and user/group administration.
- Provide support across
- Wi-Fi, LAN, meeting room AV, Teams Rooms and telephony/UCaa S
- Support office technology including secure printing and hot-desk / meeting room booking systems.
- Contribute to endpoint security, patching, vulnerability remediation and compliance within a regulated financial services environment.
- Work with third-party technology partners and vendors to resolve issues and improve services.
- Produce documentation, user guides and training material, helping colleagues get more from the technology available to them.
- Analyse recurring issues and user experience trends, identifying opportunities to improve the service rather than simply fixing the same problem twice.
What we're looking for
- Experience in a
- Desktop Support / EUC / IT Support role within Financial Services
- Strong Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365 experience
- Hands-on
- Intune and Autopilot experience
- Experience with Entra ID / Azure AD
- Experience supporting Apple devices through MDM / Apple Business Manager
- Good understanding of networking and endpoint security
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Someone proactive, practical and comfortable taking ownership
- Experience with
Copilot, Teams Phone/Rooms, Vonage, Uniflow, Condeco or Dynamics 365 would be advantageous.
This would suit someone who enjoys being close to the business, solving problems properly and working across a broad modern IT environment rather than being tied to a traditional service desk.
